The Price Is Right was on. It reminded him of his mother. He’d been thinking of her a lot lately, but he couldn’t seem to figure out why. It wasn’t as though she had ever done anything good for him and his brothers anyways. The woman was the epitome of bad parenting.

The day that she had brought Lester home from the hospital, he and Jeeves were ecstatic. Someone new to play with? They were down with that. She walked in the door, alongside their newest “Daddy”, sat down, and shot up. She didn’t even tell them his name at first, but they still brought him into their room, plopped him down on the bed, and shucked in an episode of Barney on the TV.

It was Jeeves who found fire first. The tube in the living room was starting to junk out, and finally, it blew during his favorite episode of Mr. Dressup. That didn’t sit too well with Jeeves, as he went up to the broken piece of junk, and kicked its face in. The explosion that ensued was the reason that he, Lester, and Jeeves were forced to run away at such a young age.

He snapped out of his reverie, and all he could see was white fuzz. Obviously The Price Is Right wasn’t on anymore, but he didn’t really care. He sat there, alone in the hotel room, contemplating how his life took its turn for the worst, until finally the TV simply turned off. At first, he didn’t move, but soon his scent reached his nostrils, and he decided he needed a shower.

It was short, sweet, and exactly what he needed to remove the stench. His nostrils flared. Everything smelt like sweet mangos and papaya. Not exactly the most pleasant of smells, he thought, but it did well in a pinch. He looked at himself in the mirror. By simply looking at him, you could tell he wasn’t the most educated, or the most civil, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t as deserving as every other man.

He searched in that mirror for what seemed like an eternity, and by the time he stopped looking, he had already started to get anxious about the return of his brothers. He thought of what he would say to them tonight. Possibly a few words before they stormed off again on some kind of hit, maybe he’d talk to Lester for a minute about possibly phoning to see if their mother was still alive.

He thought, and he thought, and he…

Screams. Out in the hallway. They didn’t scare him as much as they would have scared the others in the hotel they were staying at. He knew that they simply signaled the arrival of his precious little brothers. He smiled for a moment, and then looked around himself. Something was wrong with the way the walls moved. They looked slick and black, not white and smooth like they should be. He stood, and waited for them to stop moving, to stop sliding off of themselves.

They didn’t stop. The more he tried to move to get away from the room, the more the blackness covered him. He didn’t know what to do. For the first time in his life, he couldn’t speak. He could hear his brothers in the next room, with what he could only assume was the girl who had screamed in the hallway, but from what he could hear, they wouldn’t be checking up on him anytime soon.

And then, it stopped.

There was no blackness around him; he wasn’t even still in the bathroom. He was standing over the girl his brothers had brought in. It was obvious they had left her some time ago. She was tied, and had a small strip of tape on her mouth, and she looked like his mother. She was his mother! Why had his brothers left her like this? Why had they even brought her here? His brain was wracked with questions, until…

Until…

Until he realized he wasn’t in the room, that he had never been in the room, and the girl he had seen wasn’t his mother. She wasn’t even real.

He was lying, spread-eagled, on a strip of pavement somewhere. He thought for a moment that he had been shot. Judging by the noises around him, his assumption was true. Jeeves was lying next to him, obviously dead, but he couldn’t see Lester anywhere. His beautiful baby brother, the boy he would have killed for, that he had killed for in the past, was nowhere to be seen.

He felt alone. He felt scared. He felt…

No signs of life here, save the embers, the occasional flame,

The Price Is Right was on. It made him think of his mother. It's not like he thought of her alot, but he always knew that she had still given him his brothers. He owed her for that, the only good thing she ever did for him.

He still remembered the day she brought Lester home. He and Jeeves couldn't wait to see their new baby brother, but she didn't care. She just waited until their newest father got back home and decided it would be fun to shoot up in front of the kids. He supposed insanity ran in the family.

He almost missed having her around. Having a woman around.

It wasn't as though he thought he'd be alone forever, he just thought he'd have more than his brothers to hold on to by this point. Now, he didn't want people thinking he was ungrateful, but the thought of having a woman he didn't have to pay for, then most likely have to kill, was somewhat appetizing.

He thought for a moment of what she might look like. Maybe brunette. He liked brunettes. Curvy, but not skinny, and with a nice ass. Appled and with a little bit of a bounce. He didn't want her to be tall, about 5"5', because there was always something about having a woman look up to him. With their pretty eyes. He could stare into a woman's eyes for days.

He knew he was superficial. He knew he was vague. He knew there were millions of women exactly like the one he wanted.

But that didn't stop him from making his lip bleed when he pulled down his pants.
Didn't stop him from screaming when he came.
Didn't stop him from almost shooting his brothers when they came into the door of the room, hours after.
Didn't stop him from always wanting her.
